If you have your headlights constantly on you won't ever get a fine for that. Also your truck won't use more fuel for that and a battery is not being simulated. This is one option, the other one is to have your low beams on from about 6pm and until 8am. Ah, and don't forget to have them on if it is raining either, any kind of rain, light or storm.
You CANNOT get fined for running with them on, as you will see in previous threads about this topic on here, the code has been checked to make sure of this.
